This video tutorial shows how to use Plex.Mark! (the free plug-in by Plexscape) in order to work with your coordinate systems in Google Earth.

Important notice: You can download this KMZ to display a crosshair, as a helper, in the center of the screen (feature will be incorporated in the next version)

Plex.Mark! review by Free Geography Tools Blog

A few days after the launch of the service we noticed an relatively high number of new registrations. While looking around on Internet, I found the cause was a very nice review (a tutorial actually) in the Free Geography Tools  blog, written by Leszek Pawlowicz.

Leszek, we are glad to see that you and many of your readers have found Plex.Mark! useful enough to make it a helper in your projects and we wish to thank you for letting other people know about it.

Most of your recommendations will be included in the next version of Plex.Mark!, currently under parallel development with Plex.Earth. Until then I would forward, to the users of Plex.Mark!, Leszek's suggestion to download a KMZ file that creates a crosshair in Google Earth view center as an aim to precisely locate the center position.

Plexscape releases Plex.Mark! - The free plug-in for Google Earth

April 2, 2009 17:49 by Admin

Plexscape announced the launch of Plex.Mark!, the new plug-in for Google Earth that gives users the ability to work with multiple projections.

Google Earth by default uses the geographic (latitude/longitude) coordinate system or UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator) with the WGS84 datum. Plex.Mark! is an important helper for professionals, hobyyists or for people with special interests in geography, that allows to:

  • Retrieve coordinates in any projection for the current location in Google Earth.
  • Make Google Earth camera focus at the location of the user defined coordinates.

Software is running under Windows XP or Windows Vista and supports Google Earth 4 and 5.
