Two ways to define the landfill waste acceptance rates
Now you can define the waste acceptance rates using one of the following methods:
  • Direct input: This way you can import the waste acceptance rate (as metric tonnes per year) directly, either inserting the quantities one-by-one (see the left side table), or using the "Auto completion rule" which can automate the process using a specific rule.

The direct input of waste acceptance rates form

Example: For a specific period (e.g. 2000 - 2020), you may calculate the annual waste quantities accepted from the landfill starting with 30,000 t/y and an annual change of +1.5%. Pressing the button "Apply" the tool will calculate and auto-complete the new value in the left table. It is marked that you can use either percentage change (% increase or reduction) or quantitative change expressed in t/y.

  • Waste Quantities Estimation Tool (WQE-T): This tool gives you the opportunity to calculate quantities of waste that are produced by a team of cities that is served by the landfill. For each city you can define the evolution of the permanent and/or seasonal-touristic population, and with the use of suitable factors of waste production to calculate the quantities that leads to the landfill.

You can view the calculations (time series of population and waste production evolution) for each city or for the whole team in a graphical and tabular form.
