1) From "Waste Quantities Estimation" menu, select the "Cities" item. The page that appears, is blank if there is not any city in the cities group.
2) Press the "New" button
3) In this page you can specify the parameters that will be used at the calculation of population and waste quantities generation for this city:
- Enter the name and any description of the city
- Define the calculation period of the city (Fields: "Start year", "End year")
- At the "Population data" section define:
- The population at the Start year of calculation period (Field: "Population")
- The annually percentage (%) change of population (Field: "Population annual change rate"). This value can be positive (increase) or negative (decrease of population)
- The per resident daily quantity of produced litter (in kg/ca.day) (Field: "MSW generation rate")
- At the case of seasonal variation of population and/or the waste production, you must check the "Seasonal change of population" option. Then you have to define:
- The period (Fields: "Start month", "End month")
- The way that the seasonal population will be calculated: if the seasonal population is calculated independent (Option: "Absolute value") or concerning the permanent population (Option: "Proportion of permanent population"). In the first case, import the initial seasonal population and the annually percentage (%) change (Field: "Population annual change rate"). Otherwise, import the percentage of permanent population in which the seasonal corresponds.
- The per resident daily quantity of produced litter (in kg/ca.day) (Field: "MSW generation rate")
